Below are a few examples of my work. The design styles are varied to suit each individual website goal. Some things not shown include logos, minor website upgrades, additions, and updates, along with printed materials.
Access Security
A local company that provides security system installation and other related services, they also wanted to be able to provide information and manuals to better service their clients.
Concrete Septic Tank Association of Nova Scotia
The Concrete Septic Tank Association of Nova Scotia needed a presence to accomplish two things; to provide a central place for members and be able to distribute meeting minutes and other information, and to promote the environmental and other aspects of using concrete septic tanks. An interesting feature in this project was the customized Google map of all the members in Nova Scotia.
Damaris Spa and Wellness Centre
Amherst Medical Esthetics moved to a new location and was reborn as Damaris Spa and Wellness Centre. This project included a total website makeover, plus a strong successful social media strategy. Also included were capitalizing on past successes with the previous brand and search engine optimization and name transfer.
Ann Schroeder Studio
Ann is a quilt artist from Cape Breton who's works have been featured in galleries all over Canada and the USA. She needed her website redesigned and updated to also include e-commerce for silk scarves she sells online, workshop registration capabilities and to show her gallery of quilts online./p>
Cumberland Child Advocacy Board
The Cumberland Child Advocacy Board project included logo design, website, poster design, a stand-up collapsable banner and a variety of other assets, all put together into a cohesive branding and communications package./p>
Cumberland North PC Association
The Progressive Conservative Association wanted a website that could be easily maintained and deliver timely news. This one is based on Wordpress and also incorporates some news feeds from the provincial party and caucus sites. I also designed a newsletter for mailing out to members.
Christ Church
Christ Church was looking for a website solution that they could maintain on a regular basis, so we put this together using Wordpress as the platform. The Event Calendar has already proven very useful for them, and they are able to put out the weekly bulletin to those that can't make it to the service.
Mersey Point Fish
Working together with Clarity Marketing, we developed an informative marketing based website for Mersey Point Fish. The site was built using Concrete5 as a CMS platform, enabling the owners to easily update information at any time.
Verger Belliveau Orchard
Another site built together with Clarity Marketing, this large, busy, bilingual site is also based on the powerful Concrete5 platform. The door is also open for this site to later include ecommerce, with possible plans to offer mail order wine among other things.
Les Petits Fruits de Pré-d'en-Haut
Another bilingual site developed with Clarity Marketing, based on Concrete5 CMS.
Bella's Café & Bistro
A new site from scratch, part of this project included CMS implementation so that the owners can easily log in any time to update the menus, change daily specials and showcase entertainment. It was built modular enough so that later additions can be easily done as the site grows.
Actus Law Droit
This site was prepared on behalf of Clarity Marketing and consisted of html & css implementation of a design concept, with some graphic work as well. The interesting challenge for this site was the bilingual aspect and how best to handle it so that users can easily switch back and forth between languages for the Moncton market.
Fundy Shore Tourism Destination Area
CREDA put together comprehensive information on the Fundy Shore area specifically targeting tourism and tasked me with the website portion on this initiative. The goal was to present a large amount of content in an easy to navigate fashion, with pictures to give the potential visitor good information to assist them with travelling this area.
ConferenceZone
I was contracted by NovaVista, an Ottawa consulting firm to create an interactive website for one of their new ventures, ConferenceZone. This was developed using Joomla as a CMS solution, enabling NovaVista the flexibility of future expansions and management of what promises to be a very busy website.
Amherst & Area Chamber of Commerce
The previous AACC site was based on the older logo and branding. Together we came up with a whole new branding direction including a new logo that is much fresher and reflects the new vibrant direction the Chamber is taking. The new website also includes new features and integration with social media.
Star Machine Limited
Star Machine needed to update their 8 year old website. Part of the challenge was that there are really two businesses in one, and the website had to reflect that but still be easily manageable under a single CMS. The end result includes an invisible forking of the pages with dynamically generated menus depending on which business is being presented.
David Mosley
David was running for the provincial PC nomination in Cumberland North. He contacted me to put together a website where he could disseminate information to party members easily. We also integrated some social media to further help him get the message out.
Creighton, Shatford & Drysdale
Creighton, Shatford & Drysdale were looking for a complete renovation of their old site. Very few elements were kept, except for the logo which is in use for signage and printed materials as well. The design challenge was to incoporate a feeling of heritage due to the history of this law firm, while at the same time present it in a fresh manner.
Deanne Fitzpatrick Rug Hooking Studio
Deanne has had a busy website for a few years now, however it was starting to creak under the sheer volume of content and was starting to show it's age. The design challenge was to update the website without making a huge departure from this artist's efforts to date, of which she has put considerable hard work into.
Amherst Medical Esthetics
Developed in conjunction with Amherst Family Health Clinic, these two sites were intended to give a clear division of two separate businesses that also compliment each other under one roof. These two sites, along with echh.ca were developed to replace the old echh.ca which no longer met the needs of the business.
Tantramarfm.ca
This community radio station initiative needed a whole web presence with the ability to be able to update the content on a regular basis. I designed the site from the ground up, and married it to a Content Management System whereby they can easily log in every day and post new items, make changes to pages, add news, etc.
Maltby Stables
Another ground-up website, the Maltbys came to me looking for a solution to showcase their stables, services and stallions. Instead of a CMS, they opted for a maintenance package for updates to make things easier. Incorporated into the site are various innovative methods for presenting breeding information, photos and video.
Dance Nova Scotia
Dance Nova Scotia contacted me to redesign their aging website layout. They already had a programmer on staff to take care of the content and implementation, this project was for a template only. Please note that the layout has changed on their current site from the original design.
Rhodes Manor
New owners of the Havelock Street property, now known as Rhodes Manor Bed & Breakfast, came to me to design a blog layout for this project. Since the B&B's opening we changed the site over to a full CMS solution with online booking capabilities.
Tantramar Theatre
The local community theatre was in need of a website that was easy to maintain, so I devised a very simple Content Management page for them to easily be able to update their events (along with designing a site for them).
